Oral contraceptives may enhance the clearance of diflunisal. In one study, plasma clearance of diflunisal was significantly increased in women on oral contraceptives, averaging 0.165 mL/min/kg. In women not taking oral contraceptives, plasma clearance of diflunisal averaged 0.108 mL/min/kg. The clinical significance of this interaction is unknown.
