Professional:Flecainide may cause a slight increase in plasma digoxin levels. The mechanism is unknown. In one case, an increase in the PR interval was associated with this interaction, but no clinically significant adverse effects have been reported. If digoxin levels are in the upper end of the therapeutic range before flecainide is administered, caution is recommended. If digoxin toxicity develops or is suspected during coadministration, a decrease in digoxin dosage should be considered. Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they experience nausea, anorexia, visual changes, slow pulse, or irregular heartbeats.
