You may need to wait at least 24 hours after the last dose of dimercaprol before you can start or resume ferrous fumarate. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Professional:ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Dimercaprol can form a nephrotoxic chelate with certain metals such as cadmium, iron, and selenium.
MANAGEMENT: Preparations containing iron or selenium salts should not be administered during chelation therapy with dimercaprol and for at least 24 hours after the last dose of dimercaprol.
