Dobutamine Hydrochloride and Milrinone
Determining the interaction of Dobutamine Hydrochloride and Milrinone and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:The positive inotropic effects of inamrinone and dobutamine appear to be additive. In 11 patients with chronic congestive heart failure, the combination resulted in increased left ventricular contractility and cardiac index, reduced left ventricular end-diastolic pressure, and reduced systemic vascular resistance compared to either drug alone. Milrinone should be expected to have the same interaction with dobutamine based on its structural and pharmacologic similarities to inamrinone.
