Consumer:

Using DOCEtaxel together with SORAfenib may increase the effects of DOCEtaxel. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or if you experience fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, numbness, burning, pain, or tingly feeling, or white patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Coadministration with sorafenib may increase the plasma concentrations of docetaxel. The mechanism of interaction has not been described. According to the product labeling for sorafenib, concomitant use of docetaxel (75 or 100 mg/m2 every 21 days) with sorafenib (200 or 400 mg twice daily, administered with a 3-day break in dosing around administration of docetaxel) resulted in a 16% to 32% increase in docetaxel peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and a 36% to 80% increase in docetaxel systemic exposure (AUC).

MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised if docetaxel is prescribed in combination with sorafenib. Patients should be monitored closely for potential toxicities of docetaxel such as neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, liver dysfunction, stomatitis, diarrhea, cutaneous reactions and neuropathy, and the dosage adjusted accordingly.
