Consumer:

Talk to your doctor before using DOXOrubicin liposomal together with streptozocin. Combining these medications can increase the risk of serious infections. Rarely, these medications may also cause liver damage. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop signs and symptoms of infection such as fever, chills, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle aches, shortness of breath, blood in phlegm, weight loss, red or inflamed skin, body sores, and pain or burning during urination. You should also seek immediate medical attention if you have fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, itching, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, dark colored urine, light colored stools, and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes, as these may be signs and symptoms of liver damage. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: The concomitant use of streptozocin and doxorubicin may prolong the elimination half-life of doxorubicin, and increase the risk of severe bone marrow suppression and hepatotoxicity.

MANAGEMENT: It is recommended to monitor patients for clinical and laboratory signs and symptoms of toxicity. The US manufacturer also suggests decreasing the dosage of doxorubicin.
