Droperidol Injection and Kemstro
Determining the interaction of Droperidol Injection and Kemstro and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:The following interaction applies only if you are receiving baclofen (brand name Lioresal or Gablofen) intrathecally, where the medication is injected directly into the fluid-filled space under the arachnoid membrane that covers the brain and spinal cord. If you are currently receiving treatment with baclofen by intrathecal injection, you should talk to your doctor before undergoing surgery where droperidol may be used for anesthesia. Combining these medications may increase the risk of seizures and cardiovascular complications during surgery. In addition, the duration of anesthesia may be prolonged. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: The concomitant or sequential use of intrathecal baclofen and general anesthetics may increase the risk of seizures and cardiovascular disturbances, and prolong the duration of anesthesia.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is recommended if general anesthetics are administered to patients who have been pretreated with, or are currently receiving intrathecal baclofen.
