Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Hydrocodone is a narcotic cough suppressant. It affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex.

Phenylephrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

DroTuss-CP is a combination medicine used to treat runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, cough, and sinus congestion caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu.

DroTuss-CP will not treat a cough that is caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema.

DroTuss-CP may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

• This medicine is not for use in children younger than 18 years of age. The benefits of taking EndaCof-C (codeine and chlorpheniramine liquid) for a cough due to allergies, a cold, or other infection do not outweigh the risks in children. If your child has been given EndaCof-C (codeine and chlorpheniramine liquid) or if you have any questions, talk with your child's doctor.
