Droxidopa and Zyvox

Using droxidopa together with linezolid should generally be avoided. GENERALLY AVOID: Based on their mechanism of action, nonselective monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) may potentiate the risk of supine hypertension associated with the use of droxidopa in the treatment of neurogenic orthostatic hypotension.

MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of droxidopa with nonselective MAOIs or other agents that possess MAOI activity (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, methylene blue, procarbazine) should be avoided. Selective MAO-B inhibitors such as rasagiline and selegiline were permitted in droxidopa clinical trials.
