Duloxetine Capsules and Sodium Citrate and Citric Acid Oral Solution
Determining the interaction of Duloxetine Capsules and Sodium Citrate and Citric Acid Oral Solution and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Coadministration of enteric-coated duloxetine with substances that raise gastrointestinal pH may result in earlier release of duloxetine from the formulation. The enteric coating is intended to resist drug dissolution until reaching a segment of the gastrointestinal tract where the pH exceeds 5.5. However, coadministration with aluminum- and magnesium-containing antacids (51 mEq) or famotidine has been shown to have no significant effect on the rate or extent of duloxetine absorption following administration of a 40 mg oral dose. It is unknown whether concomitant administration of proton pump inhibitors would affect duloxetine absorption.
