Eculizumab is a monoclonal antibody. Eculizumab binds to proteins in the blood that can destroy red blood cells in people with genetic conditions that affect the natural defenses of red blood cells.

Eculizumab is used to prevent the breakdown of red blood cells in adults with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).

Eculizumab is also used to treat a rare chronic blood disease called atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) in adults and children who weigh at least 11 pounds (5 kilograms).

Eculizumab is also used to treat myasthenia gravis in adults.

Eculizumab is also used to treat neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) in adults.

Eculizumab is available only under a special program. You must be registered in the program and understand the risks and benefits of eculizumab.

Ryzodeg contains a combination of insulin aspart and insulin degludec. Insulin is a hormone that works by lowering levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood. Insulin aspart is a fast-acting insulin. Insulin degludec is a long-acting insulin. This combination insulin starts to work within 10 to 20 minutes after injection, peaks in about 1 hour, and keeps working for 24 hours or longer.

Ryzodeg is used to improve blood sugar control in adults with diabetes mellitus.

Ryzodeg may be used for type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
