Estramustine and Slow-Mag

Consumer:Using calcium carbonate together with estramustine may decrease the effects of estramustine. Administration of estramustine should be separated at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals, milk, or calcium carbonate. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Oral calcium containing products may significantly decrease serum concentrations of estramustine. The mechanism of the interaction is not known.
MANAGEMENT: Estramustine should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals, milk, or calcium containing products.
