Consumer:

Bupivacaine liposome and lidocaine should not be mixed together or injected into the same area at the same time. Bupivacaine liposome is a specialized formulation that releases the medication into the surrounding tissue at a controlled rate. When exposed to other medications or solutions, the release rate can be altered.

Professional:

ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Nonbupivacaine-based local anesthetics including lidocaine may cause an immediate release of bupivacaine from the liposome suspension when administered together locally.

MANAGEMENT: Bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension should not be admixed with lidocaine or other nonbupivacaine-based local anesthetics. Bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension may be locally administered after at least 20 minutes following the local administration
