Coadministration with omeprazole has been shown to slightly increase the plasma concentrations of gemifloxacin. According to the product labeling, omeprazole (40 mg once a day for 4 days) increased the peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) of gemifloxacin (320 mg single dose) by an average of 11% and 10%, respectively. These increases are not considered clinically significant.
