Using cloNIDine together with fluPHENAZine may have additive low blood pressure effects and cause delirium. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

MONITOR: The concomitant administration of clonidine and fluphenazine may have additive hypotensive effects and cause delirium. The mechanism is unknown.

MANAGEMENT: Patients should be monitored for adverse cardiovascular and CNS effects especially when initiating therapy, and advised to notify their physician if they experience dizziness, weakness, syncope, orthostasis, confusion or disorientation.
