Isavuconazonium may reduce the blood levels of buPROPion, which may make the medication less effective in treating your condition. The proposed mechanism is isavuconazole induction of the CYP450 2B6-mediated metabolism of bupropion. When a single 100 mg dose of bupropion was administered to healthy volunteers following multiple dosing of isavuconazonium sulfate, bupropion peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) decreased by approximately 30% and 40%, respectively.

MANAGEMENT: The potential for diminished pharmacologic effects of bupropion should be considered during coadministration with isavuconazonium sulfate. An increase in bupropion dosage may be required, but should not exceed the maximum recommended dosage.
