Consumer:

Using etoposide together with cycloSPORINE may increase the effects of etoposide. Contact your doctor if you experience nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, sore throat, flu symptoms, easy bruising, or extreme weakness. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

ADJUST DOSE: High-dose cyclosporine (concentration greater than 2,000 ng/mL) has been shown to significantly increase systemic etoposide exposure and leukopenia. The mechanism is believed to be inhibition of the multidrug transporter P-glycoprotein in normal tissues.

MANAGEMENT: In combination with high-dose cyclosporine, etoposide dosage may be reduced by 50%. Complete blood counts should be monitored.
