GNP Cold Relief Plus and Lanoxin
Determining the interaction of GNP Cold Relief Plus and Lanoxin and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Using digoxin together with phenylephrine may occasionally cause an irregular heart rhythm. Patients with heart disease should generally consult with their doctor before using phenylephrine or similar medications, since they can affect heart rate and blood pressure. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: The concomitant use of sympathomimetic agents and cardiac glycosides may increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmias. The mechanism of this interaction is not known. Increased ectopic pacemaker activity has been reported to occur in patients taking digoxin in combination with pseudoephedrine.
MANAGEMENT: Caution should be exercised if these two drugs are coadministered. Electrocardiogram monitoring (ECG) is recommended. The use of epinephrine (adrenaline) with high doses of digitalis glycosides is not recommended.
