Heparin and Sodium Chloride and Lanoxin Tablets
Determining the interaction of Heparin and Sodium Chloride and Lanoxin Tablets and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Limited data reveal that the free fraction of digoxin is increased in uremic patients following administration of heparin after five minutes of hemodialysis. The mechanism is displacement of digoxin from albumin-binding sites. The resulting increase in digoxin was not associated with toxicity and was clinically insignificant. However, this interaction may be important as stable doses digoxin are established in some patients receiving heparin infusions. More data are needed.
