• This medicine is not for use in children younger than 18 years of age. The benefits of taking this medicine (hydrocodone and guaifenesin tablets) for a cough due to allergies, a cold, or other infection do not outweigh the risks in children. Mucinex Allergy is an antihistamine that is used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever) in adults and children.
