Indinavir and Methadose Disp
Determining the interaction of Indinavir and Methadose Disp and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Indinavir does not appear to significantly affect the pharmacokinetics of methadone. In 12 study subjects on methadone maintenance treatment, coadministration of methadone (20 to 60 mg once daily) and indinavir (800 mg three times daily) for 8 days resulted in no changes to methadone peak plasma concentration, systemic exposure (AUC), or trough plasma concentration. Methadone also had negligible effects on indinavir pharmacokinetics, as indinavir AUC in the study were similar to historical data. Based on these findings, no dosage adjustments are necessary for either methadone or indinavir during coadministration.
