Intelence and Raltegravir
Determining the interaction of Intelence and Raltegravir and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Coadministration with etravirine may reduce the plasma concentrations of raltegravir. The mechanism of interaction has not been described. In 19 study subjects administered raltegravir 400 mg twice a day in combination with etravirine 200 mg twice a day, raltegravir peak plasma concentration (Cmax), systemic exposure (AUC) and trough plasma concentration (Cmin) decreased by 11%, 10% and 34%, respectively, compared to administration of raltegravir alone. These changes were statistically, but not clinically, significant. Raltegravir had no effect on the pharmacokinetics of etravirine. Raltegravir and etravirine may be coadministered without any dosage adjustments.
