Iohexol injection is used to help diagnose or find problems in the brain, back, heart, head, blood vessels, and other parts of the body. It is an iodinated contrast agent. Contrast agents are used to create a clear picture of the different parts of the body during certain medical procedures (eg, CT scans).

Iohexol is to be given only by or under the supervision of a doctor.

Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. It affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex.

Doxylamine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

Doxylamine, dextromethorphan, and pseudoephedrine is a combination medicine used to treat cough, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu.

Lortuss DM will not treat a cough that is caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema.
