Consumer:Using meperidine together with isoniazid may cause low blood pressure and increased side effects. Contact your doctor if you experience extreme drowsiness, muscle weakness, confusion, cold and clammy skin, shallow breathing, slow heart rate, or fainting. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. Professional:MONITOR: During concomitant use of meperidine and isoniazid, hypotension and CNS depression have been observed. The mechanism is unknown.
MANAGEMENT: Patients should be closely monitored for hypotension and CNS depression if these drugs must be used together.
