Kariva is a combination birth control pill containing female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). Kariva also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.

Tyvaso (treprostinil) dilates (widens) the arteries and decreases the amount of blood clotting platelets in your body. These effects lower blood pressure in the pulmonary artery that leads from the heart to the lungs.

Tyvaso is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). This medicine improves your ability to exercise and can help prevent your condition from getting worse.
