Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:In vitro data suggests that potent inhibitors of CYP450 3A4 isoenzymes may decrease the formation of the active metabolite of losartan. The clinical significance of this interaction is unknown. The clinician should remain aware of this potential interaction and adjust dosages if needed. (Data have shown that eprosartan, a similar compound to losartan, is not affected by inhibition of this enzyme.)
