Triamterene may decrease the extrarenal clearance of digoxin. Elevated serum digoxin levels may result. The clinical significance of this interaction is expected to be minor. Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they experience signs of digoxin toxicity such as nausea, anorexia, visual disturbances, slow pulse, or irregular heartbeats.
