Consumer:

Using digoxin together with midodrine can affect the rhythm of your heart. Contact your doctor if you experience tiredness, dizziness, fainting, confusion, tremor, difficulty breathing, and an irregular heartbeat. You may need a dose adjustment or special test if you use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Midodrine when administered with any agent that may slow the heart rate (i.e., cardiac glycosides, beta blockers, tricyclic antidepressants) may enhance or precipitate bradycardia, AV block or arrhythmia. The mechanism may be related to vagal reflexive slowing of the heart after midodrine administration.

MANAGEMENT: If midodrine and cardiac glycosides are administered concomitantly, patients should be monitored for cardiac abnormalities. Patients should be advised to promptly notify their physician if they experience a slow pulse, dizziness, syncope, or cardiac awareness.
