Lanoxin Pediatric Intravenous and Metoclopramide Injection
Determining the interaction of Lanoxin Pediatric Intravenous and Metoclopramide Injection and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Digoxin serum concentrations may be reduced during concomitant therapy with metoclopramide. The proposed mechanism is metoclopramide-induced stimulation of gastric motility, which may decrease digoxin absorption. Rapidly dissolving preparations such as digoxin solution in capsules do not appear to be affected. Patients should be advised to notify their physicians if they experience worsening of their heart symptoms.
