Levoleucovorin Intravenous and Prozac Weekly

Levoleucovorin injection is used as an antidote to the harmful effects of methotrexate (a cancer medicine) that is given in high doses in patients with bone cancer (osteosarcoma). It is also used to treat overdosage of certain medicines. Levoleucovorin acts the same way in the body as folic acid (vitamin B9).

Levoleucovorin injection is also used in combination with 5-fluorouracil (Adrucil®) to relieve and prevent symptoms of patients with advanced metastatic (cancer that has already spread) cancer of the colon and rectum.

Levoleucovorin is to be given only by or under the direct supervision of a doctor.

Prozac Weekly is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) antidepressant. This medicine affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with depression, panic, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive symptoms.

Prozac Weekly is used to treat major depressive disorder, bulimia nervosa (an eating disorder) obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Prozac Weekly is sometimes used together with another medication called olanzapine (Zyprexa) to treat manic depression caused by bipolar disorder. This combination is also used to treat depression after at least 2 other medications have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms.
