Limited data have shown that indomethacin may enhance the pressor response to norepinephrine. Eicosanoids originating from the cyclooxygenase pathway of arachidonate metabolism may modulate the vascular response to adrenergic stimulation. Indomethacin is a potent cyclooxygenase inhibitor. The clinical significance is unknown. Blood pressure monitoring is recommended during norepinephrine infusion, particularly in patients who have used or are taking indomethacin.
