Liqui-Dual Citra and Minocycline Extended-Release Capsules
Determining the interaction of Liqui-Dual Citra and Minocycline Extended-Release Capsules and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Using sodium citrate together with minocycline may decrease the effects of minocycline. Administration of sodium citrate and minocycline should be separated by three to four hours. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Alkalinization of the urine may decrease the plasma concentration of some tetracyclines. The mechanism is not completely understood, but may involve increased renal elimination of tetracyclines when the urine becomes alkalinized. Information is available for doxycycline, tetracycline, and sodium bicarbonate only.
MANAGEMENT: If these drugs must be used together, an alternating dosing schedule is recommended (three to four hours apart).
