Using TOLAZamide together with liraglutide can increase the risk of hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Symptoms of hypoglycemia include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nervousness, confusion, tremor, nausea, hunger, weakness, perspiration, palpitation, and rapid heartbeat. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

ADJUST DOSE: Coadministration of a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist with an insulin secretagogue (e.g., sulfonylurea, meglitinide) may potentiate the risk of hypoglycemia. GLP-1 receptor agonists lower blood glucose by stimulating insulin secretion and lowering glucagon secretion.

MANAGEMENT: A lower dosage of the insulin secretagogue may be required when used in combination with a GLP-1 receptor agonist.
