Lithium Carbonate and Sumycin Tablets
Determining the interaction of Lithium Carbonate and Sumycin Tablets and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:A case report has suggested that tetracycline may increase serum lithium levels and may lead to toxicity, although this conclusion was not substantiated by a small crossover study. Patients who must take both drugs probably should be monitored for clinical and laboratory evidence of lithium toxicity. Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they experience symptoms of possible lithium toxicity such as drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, ataxia, vomiting, diarrhea, thirst, blurry vision, tinnitus, tremor, or increased urination.
