Adjunct to a low-fat diet and other lipid-lowering treatments, including LDL apheresis where available, to reduce LDL-cholesterol, total cholesterol, apolipoprotein B (apo B), and non-HDL-cholesterol concentrations in the management of homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (designated an orphan drug by US FDA for use in this condition).

Safety and efficacy not established in patients with hypercholesterolemia who do not have homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.

Trimox (amoxicillin) is a penicillin antibiotic that fights bacteria.

Trimox is used to treat many different types of infection caused by bacteria, such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin, or urinary tract.

Amoxicillin is also sometimes used together with another antibiotic called clarithromycin (Biaxin) to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. This combination is sometimes used with a stomach acid reducer called lansoprazole (Prevacid).
