Professional:MONITOR: Gemfibrozil when used concomitantly with cyclosporine may lead to decreased cyclosporine trough levels and subsequent reduction in effectiveness of the immunosuppressant. The mechanism of the interaction is unknown.
MANAGEMENT: Monitoring of cyclosporine concentrations and clinically observing the patient for signs of organ rejection is recommended.
