Determining the interaction of Metformin and sitagliptin and Neoral Oral and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Coadministration with cyclosporine, a potent inhibitor of P-glycoprotein efflux transporter, does not appear to significantly alter the pharmacokinetics of sitagliptin, which is a substrate of P-glycoprotein. Following coadministration of a single 100 mg oral dose of sitagliptin and a single 600 mg oral dose of cyclosporine, the peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) of sitagliptin were increased by 68% and 29%, respectively. These changes are not considered clinically significant. The renal clearance of sitagliptin was also not significantly altered in the presence of cyclosporine.
