Methylergonovine is used to prevent and control bleeding from the uterus that can happen after childbirth. It belongs to the class of medicines called ergot alkaloids. This medicine works by acting directly on the smooth muscles of the uterus and prevents bleeding after giving birth.

PosiFlush is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that prevents the formation of blood clots.

PosiFlush is used to flush (clean out) an intravenous (IV) catheter, which helps prevent blockage in the tube after you have received an IV infusion.

PosiFlush should not be used to treat or prevent blood clots in the body. A separate this medicine product is available to use for this purpose.
