Has been used in the treatment of major depressive disorder and is approved for treating depression in some countries; this indication is not an FDA-labeled use.

Insufficient data, to date, to determine if efficacy and tolerability of milnacipran as an antidepressant are superior, inferior, or equal to that of other antidepressants for acute treatment of major depressive disorder. Some studies indicate improved tolerability with milnacipran when compared with tricyclic antidepressants.

Omniscan is a contrast agent that has magnetic properties. It is used in combination with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to allow blood vessels, organs, and other non-bony tissues to be seen more clearly on the MRI.

Omniscan is used to help diagnose certain disorders of the brain and spine (central nervous system), or the stomach and chest areas.
