Estradiol is a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone produced by the ovaries. Estrogen is necessary for many processes in the body.

Minivelle skin patches are used to treat certain symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, and vaginal dryness, burning, and irritation. Minivelle is also used to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis, or to treat ovarian disorders.

Morphine is an opioid medication. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic.

Morphine is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Short-acting formulations are taken as needed for pain.

The extended-release form of morphine is for around-the-clock treatment of pain. This form of morphine is not for use on an as-needed basis for pain.
