Narcan blocks or reverses the effects of opioid medication, including extreme drowsiness, slowed breathing, or loss of consciousness. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic.

Narcan (for use in the nose) is used to treat a narcotic overdose in an emergency situation. Narcan should not be used in place of emergency medical care for an overdose.

Narcan is also used to help diagnose whether a person has used an overdose of an opioid.

Plazomicin is used to treat complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI), including pyelonephritis (kidney infection) in patients who have limited or no other treatment options. Plazomicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth.

Plazomicin may be given only by or under the direct supervision of your doctor.
