Consumer:Using midazolam together with prilocaine can increase nervous system side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and confusion. Avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until the effects of these medications have worn off. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medication without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: The concomitant use of local anesthetics and benzodiazepines may have additive CNS-depressant effects. Both types of drugs are CNS depressants.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised during concurrent use. Patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS depression and other CNS adverse effects. Dosage adjustments may be required.
