Using nalidixic acid and thiotepa is not recommended. Taking these drugs together can cause symptoms of easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, nausea, stomach pain, low fever, or loss of appetite. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

CONTRAINDICATED: Serious gastrointestinal toxicity such as hemorrhagic ulcerative colitis and intestinal necrosis has been reported with the concomitant use of nalidixic acid and melphalan. The mechanism of interaction has not been described.

MANAGEMENT: The concomitant use of nalidixic acid in patients undergoing therapy with melphalan or other related cancer chemotherapeutic alkylating agents is considered contraindicated.
