Nitroglycerin ER and Pitressin Injection
Determining the interaction of Nitroglycerin ER and Pitressin Injection and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Nitroglycerin has been used safely and successfully to counteract some of the potentially deleterious pressor effects of vasopressin. The combination may be particularly useful if vasopressin is required in a patient with known or suspected coronary artery disease. Animal data have shown that neither drug significantly affects the plasma clearance of the other. While nitroglycerin and vasopressin have opposing hemodynamic effects, the interaction has been used to clinical advantage.
