Otrexup and Pegaspargase

Pegaspargase may reduce the effects of methotrexate in the treatment of some conditions. The interaction may occur even if you are receiving methotrexate after you have stopped treatment with pegaspargase, as there may be residual low levels of the drug in your system. GENERALLY AVOID: Nonclinical data suggest that the concomitant use of L-asparaginase and methotrexate may reduce the antineoplastic effect of methotrexate. The mechanism and clinical significance are unknown.

MANAGEMENT: It is recommended to avoid concomitant or sequential use while plasma asparagine levels are below normal.
