Paclitaxel protein-bound and Ulipristal Tablets (Ella)
Determining the interaction of Paclitaxel protein-bound and Ulipristal Tablets (Ella) and the possibility of their joint administration.

A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Ulipristal may increase the blood levels and effects of PACLitaxel protein-bound. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: Based on in vitro inhibition data, coadministration with ulipristal may increase the plasma concentrations of drugs that are substrates of the P-glycoprotein (P-gp) transporter. The proposed mechanism is decreased clearance in the intestine, liver, and/or kidney due to inhibition of P-glycoprotein-mediated drug efflux by ulipristal. However, the interaction has not been studied or reported clinically.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised when ulipristal is used concurrently with drugs that are known P-gp substrates, particularly those with a narrow therapeutic range. Dosage adjustments as well as clinical and laboratory monitoring may be appropriate for some drugs whenever ulipristal is added to or withdrawn from therapy.
