Professional:MONITOR: Hydantoins may induce the CYP450 metabolism of paroxetine and thereby decrease its therapeutic effects. Also, paroxetine may slightly induce hydantoin metabolism.
MANAGEMENT: Monitoring for evidence of reduced effects of both agents is recommended. Dosage adjustments may be necessary if an interaction is suspected.
