Consumer:

Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.

Professional:

One study has suggested that the combination of indomethacin and haloperidol frequently results in drowsiness and confusion. The mechanism is unknown. Close observation for adverse neurologic effects is indicated if these drugs must be used together. Use of a different neuroleptic agent may be necessary in some patients. Further data are needed to determine whether the adverse effect was simply due to the drowsiness normally induced by haloperidol, as well as whether other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) might interact with haloperidol.
