Pod-Care 100C and Ticlopidine Hydrochloride
Determining the interaction of Pod-Care 100C and Ticlopidine Hydrochloride and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Limited data have shown that corticosteroids may significantly decrease ticlopidine-induced prolongations in bleeding times. The mechanism may be related to corticosteroid induced peripheral vasoconstriction as limited data have shown that corticosteroids do not affect ADP-mediated platelet aggregation in patients who are taking therapeutic doses of ticlopidine. The clinical relevance of this interaction is unknown, although it is suggested by some experts that systemic corticosteroids could be used prior to emergency surgery in patients who are taking ticlopidine. It is unknown whether the risk of thrombosis is increased in patients who are taking both drugs. More data are needed.
