Potiga and Propoven
Determining the interaction of Potiga and Propoven and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Before you undergo surgery where anesthesia with propofol may be given, let your doctor know if you are currently being treated with ezogabine. In studies with rats, ezogabine has been shown to prolong the sleep time induced by propofol. Studies have not been performed in human. You may need to be monitored more closely during anesthesia. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: Ezogabine may increase the duration of some anesthetics. In studies with rats, thiopental-induced sleep time was increased from 4 minutes to 53 minutes and propofol-induced sleep time increased from 8 minutes to 12 minutes. Human clinical data are lacking.
MANAGEMENT: It may be advisable to monitor anesthetized patients for excessive sleep duration if they have been treated with ezogabine.
